In clinical trials, especially psychiatric clinical trials, the issue of a study participant’s diagnosis is very important. Because psychiatric diagnosis’ are very subjective, it is very common for a clinical trial participant to have several different psychiatric diagnosis’ depending on which clinical trial they were most recently involved in. Guest Guru, Trevor Agar, LCSW, shares some of his experiences with this topic, and offers some suggestions to both the clinical trial participants, as well as the research clinics out there on how to handle this issue.
