Maybe it’s obvious, but not all clinical trials are the same. Some studies are inherently riskier than others, while some clinical trials should barely even be considered experimental. In this video I explain the differences between various clinical trials that are available, and I caution people not to generalize or group clinical trials into one category. Just as there are a variety of medical conditions out there, there are also a variety of clinical trials as well as types of clinical trials. Phase 1 studies don’t even recruit any individuals outside of perfectly healthy volunteers. Other studies seek only the most chronically ill. Please never let anyone tell you that all clinical trials are the same, or that all clinical trials are experiments. This is simply untrue.
