In today’s video, Don talks about the time commitment that doctors must dedicate to clinical trials if they decide to ever conduct studies. According to Don and several industry insiders that we talk with regularly, an alarming number of doctors are conducting clinical trials while delegating a majority of the responsibilities to their study staff. While there is nothing necessarily wrong with this, some people have concerns that the doctors are not having enough oversight as to what is going on in their own clinical trials that they are conducting. It is important to note that the study doctors are ultimately responsible for the overall safety and well being of the study participants in their study. Don brings up a very good point, if doctors don’t have sufficient time to have proper oversight of their trials, they shouldn’t be conducting these studies to begin with.
